Lent Worship Series 1: Poured Out

Poured Out Lent Worship Series takes five elements that were poured out during the passion and death of Jesus Christ. Each element is paired with a biblical character that will bring to life the narratives and help you experience the story. The biblical base for this series is Ephesians 1:6 "So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear son."

A rose was the "anchor image" (an image that will be repeated consistently throughout the series.) You will find dried roses throughout the lent decorations, These turned to real roses live on Easter

The light that came into the world is now under darkness facing death. In the service of Tenebre or Shadows; scriptures and songs moves the congregation to a darken season for reflection. Remembering that the darkness could not overcome the light we leave in silence with the hope of the resurrection.

The symbol of water falling through three diverse vessels reminds us how the grace of God is poured into our hearts no matter who we are. God's grace is poured over us and in us!
